HUGE SUCCESS: SDSF becomes the Nation's Largest Science Festival!

Thanks to combined efforts from collaborators, sponsors and YOU, the 2009 San Diego Science Festival became the biggest science festival in the U.S.!

Expo Day on Saurday, April 4th, the festival's grand finale in Balboa Park, brought together over 50,000 attendees from all over the county, state,and even the world to visit over 200 different booths and watch over 25 science-related performances. Sponsor companies and collaborating organizations provided activities for families and people of all ages including finger painting with algae, playing catch with a robot, looking through telescopes at sunspots, racing remote controlled cars, making test-tube lava lamps, and creating musical instruments.

Since the beginning of March, over 200,000 people took the opportunity to interact with the local scientific community as part of the 2009 San Diego Science Festival, through various school, evening, and outreach programs.
